We play, we build, and we check the receipts on AI gaming claims.
PlayMind is an independent publication about AI in video games. We are not owned by, affiliated with, or paid by any tool we cover, and we never sell rankings.
Why we exist
AI in games attracts more hype per frame than any other corner of tech. Some of it is real — studios really are shipping AI-assisted workflows — and some of it is a trailer for a game that doesn't exist. We separate the two, with sources.
One rule governs everything we publish: if a claim can't be traced to a named source — a vendor's pricing page, a regulator's guidance, or a reputable study — it doesn't get published.
How we review
- Hands-on testing. We play the games and run the tools ourselves, then describe what actually happened — not what the store page promised.
- Source hierarchy. Tier 1: vendor documentation (NVIDIA, Unity, Unreal) and industry surveys such as GDC's State of the Game Industry, cited with year and sample size. Tier 2: official announcements and pricing pages. Tier 3: press and community reporting, for background only.
- Expert review. Development-tool claims are reviewed by a working game developer before publication.
- Corrections. We fix errors, note them on the page, and you can report one any time.

Industry data note
Survey figures from GDC and similar sources reflect the respondents of each survey, not every developer on Earth. We state the sample and year next to every number.
